This is how hypocritical and petty our leaders can get. When President Museveni summoned the caucus and a certain Hon. Anite knelt down and begged Mzee to stand in 2016, many in our political circles at Parliament blasted the move by Museveni to have members in support of his sole NRM candidature sign on a piece of paper that had no much legal implication. Of course India signed many days thereafter. Fast forward, our MPs are engaged in the same activity after the Constitutional Court kicked out #AHA on issues of quorum. My understanding is an individual is expected to form his or her mind on whether to vote YEA or NAY having addressed themselves to the clauses in the Bill and been furnished by facts. These are just the basic tenets of sound, informed decision making process. In this case, this is not happening. We are witnessing our leaders using emotion to arrive at decisions, not reason and neither is it on compelling arguments.
