This is in response to the Tory campaigns misleading claim and the Stars misleading headline that Chow doesnt view the DRL as a priority. Chow made some comment on why the DRL shouldnt be an election issue, and thinking about it, I agree with her. The TTC and Metrolinx have made the DRL a priority and have begun consultation, and there will be public meetings, so why are the other candidate acting like the DRL is urgently needed when the TTC and Metrolinx have made it their priority already? John Tory already ruled out any revenue tool to pay for citys share of the line, and Stintzs idea is a joke. I think Olivia Chow transit priorities is the right place. She supports the DRL, and recognizes its a long term project. The DRL is coming, and its going to be a few election cycles before we see shovels in the ground, so why act like its urgently needed, when consultation has begun?
