This is in the Maryland Student/Athlete Handbook and part of their Code of Conduct as well as the Little FOURTEEN (Big Ten) Sportsmanship Policy If you let them get away with this, other rules will fall...Maryland, do the right thing and suspend these players immediately Little FOURTEEN, if not penalize Marylands program and NCAA...oh yeah forget them If nothing happens, stop questioning the FSUs, Georgias, Auburns OSUs, USC, Notre Dames and PSUs etc regardless of the rule, which rule are we enforcing Gentlemen you have the right to make a statement but when you signed your code of conduct (way to represent), then gave the right to the University to remove you from the sport, the school and the arena if you dont abide by that code, if the University allows you to break those rules, the Conference has the right to penalize the University, Conference if you dont do the right thing, NCAA...oh yeah forget that then lets stop pretending there are rules AGREEMENT 10. SPORTSMANSHIP POLICY (Adopted 1974; revised 1991; 1995; 2000; revised 6/2/13 & effective 8/1/13) 10.01 General Purpose and Scope. The Big Ten Conference expects all contests involv- ing a member institution to be conducted without compromise to any fundamental element of sportsmanship. Such fundamental elements include integrity of the competition, civility toward all, and respect, particularly toward opponents and officials. Accordingly, each member institution, through the actions of the individuals or groups of individuals listed in Agreement 10.1.1below, has an obligation to behave in a way that does not offend the ele- ments of sportsmanship described above. Actions that are offensive to the integrity of the competition, actions that offend civility, and actions of disrespect are subject to review and are punishable in accordance with the terms of this policy. Although this policy will apply most commonly to actions that occur within or around the competitive arena, the scope of its application is intentionally left unrestricted in order to accommodate any behavior, which may occur in any setting, deemed by the Commissioner to offend the underlying ob- jective this policy seeks to achieve. PS. Im not a PSU fan, regardless, as a coach, I would not stand for that behavior and if I allowed it, I should be suspended...note to Maryland AD Im guessing thats why Marylands last National Championship came in 1953
