This is inspiring, reading the post Kristin made a few days ago made me re-think the ways i am living my life and the attention i pay to my close friends and family....life is not just work and paying bills, it is or at least should be about taking chance and enjoying life! You know you are close when you begin to cry simultaneously by an ATM because you witness two strangers connecting. When you are sharing, in depth, the quality and quantity of your shit (both literally and metaphorically). When you’ve seen each other through babies, marriages, heartbreaks, tragedy, conflict, loss, rifts between you, moves, family challenge, haircuts, fashion crises. When year after year, no matter what is happening in your lives you choose to come together with the intention to develop closeness and love in the face of challenge. I am about to embark on my sixth annual Wild Women’s Adventure. This time to Mongolia. There are four of us ladies. We don’t all live in the same place, we live fairly different lives, and see each other less than we would like, but we do this. WWA has become one of the most important parts of my year. It has become a marker for me. Let’s be honest, it isn’t easy to get a group of people together to go somewhere. Ever… Especially with work and family and our busy busy lives. I make a point of connecting with these inspiring women no matter what. And they do the same. As the years have passed, I have realized the trips have less to do with adventure or wildness on the outside and more to do with the adventure of our friendships. And the wildness of learning about ourselves through learning about each other. It is a rather spectacular thing to have fellow journeymen to share my life with. And as a sweet bonus, I get to journey to far off lands at the same time. I am a lucky girl. ~Kristin
