This is interesting. Amendment of writ Generally, the plaintiff is entitled to amend his writ without the leave of the court once at any time before the pleadings in the action are deemed to be close. If the writ is amended after its service, the amended writ must be served on each defendant to the action. Pleadings are deemed to be closed (a) at the expiration of 14 days after service of the reply or, if there is no reply but only a defence to counterclaim, after service of the defence to counterclaim; or (b) if neither a reply nor a defence to the counterclaim is served, at the expiration of 14 days after service of the defence as in the Rules of Court. Pg 100 Principles of Civil Procedure textbook. No wonder they amended the writ. From 11 September, to a new version 12 September 2013. I wonder what the amendments are.... hmm... more twists and turns, like in a theme park.
