This is interesting that so many people that have benefit from AAU are outright bashing it these days (ironically after their playing and even coaching days are over). Yes, AAU basketball has its issues but it actually comes down to the people who are in charge (coaches). Robert Horry seems to be talking out of both sides of his mouth here. He says that he hates AAU basketball but then in the same breath he says his son PLAYS (His problem is with the particular coach not AAU). Seems like he should find a different program/coach for his son. My problem with AAU is its checks and balances not AAU itself. It is an AWESOME experience that youth can truly benefit from and I was afforded the opportunity to play all across this country BEFORE college (in fact received a college scholarship via playing AAU). So Horry should have said he Hates his sons AAU COACH, not AAU itself (it is the people mainly a few coaches that are in it for the wrong reasons). Thoughts?
