This is it you all! The final of nine mbit internet! This is what I was finally able to make of it with the new hardware: I really think this is the final one this time. I think this is as much as I can afford to get out of ine mbit =] This time all the upstream proxies are running squid instead of ATS and I have them all with ICP enabled. And ICP ICMP! Another newbie is that this one has audio in it! [Edit: I further noticed I had some mistaken scheduling settings to cause such a large spike, ive lowered it so there is not the 1-2 second spike when the speedtest or a file transfer starts] Alright! I finally have the hardware setup Ive been waiting so long for! The line is throttled to ~9mbit for scheduling reasons. Like before, there are four upstream proxies on 1gbit vps in the mid to eastern usa that are caching although not compressing at all. Also, there is packet scheduling at the edge. Youll notice when I do the speed test that there is a spike and then it flattens, that is due to the 48kbyte interface max burst [much lower now after the edit]I have on that class for web browsing! Id think itd be hard to make any more than this out ofnine mbit! The specs on the machine are as follows: Processor: AMD FX-6300 Six-Core @ 4.40GHz (6 Cores), Motherboard: ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3, Chipset: AMD RS780 + SB7x0/SB8x0/SB9x0, Memory: 8192MB, Disk: 60GB KINGSTON SV300S3, Graphics: eVGA NVIDIA GeForce GT 610 2048MB (270/405MHz), Audio: AMD SBx00 Azalia, Monitor: E241i-A1, Network: Realtek RTL8111/8168/8411 For the note, line is 10mbit/.756kbit ADSL2 from centurylink. Also note: this is all while video recording in full 1080p on the same machine! youtu.be/xAvvI2isBX0
