This is just 4 of the dogs, yep, pitties or mixes, that broke free today and yesterday because a big group of people gave them a voice. This is Quinn, Atlas, Chance and Tucker. The passenger driver Quinn is the one that the first time I met her I had to crawl through a 1 ft by 2 ft opening to get to her, she had just been brought in. The next week after she was given a second chance and been spared, she was the happiest girl ever. Then there is Atlas, my boyfriend, he was so chill, watched his runmate break out, had no chance being a 6 year old big ol pittie boy. Look at his freedom smile! Then there is Chance. Was owner surrendered yesterday, and Atlas and Tuckers hero saw him yesterday when she was saving Tucker, and came back for him! Again, look at that freedom smile! Then there is Tucker, what a love. A mix of everything, no interest, skin issues, and look at how proud and regal he is! These 4 urgents that I was for sure wouldnt make it, maybe 1 of them, but not all of them, are given a second chance because of so many people. RAIN rescue and Dog Days Rescue, ultimately Lindsey Chavez and Tina Lee, the handful of sponsors like Nancy Cohen, Lisa Ericson, Fiona Harris, Andee Dyer Hastings, and a few others, the freedom drivers like Kelly Myers Adams and Rosemary Rutland, the fosters, and sharers, and Jan S Granai, the rescue coordinator of this shelter, made this all happen. Look at the happiness and relief and content of these 4 dogs. THIS is why we try so hard. It takes a village to make those smiles happen, picking up the pieces of somebody elses garbage. They do matter, and we will let them know they do, whether they make it to the freedom smile, or run free across the bridge smiling.
