This is just a thought and if anyone thinks it is a bad idea then please feel free to let me know, I will understand:) We have all witnessed the frustration of our boys and coaches on and off of the field. I, for one, nailed my son on the spot which I will always do if he acts unsportsmanlike or disrespectful. As a team, they are not just representing themselves but their community, their school, their team, and most important, God. With this in mind, I want to make a suggestion. Some of the other schools have a team outing, some for the weekend before the season starts or school starts others for a day. During this outing the team has a chance to grow together and bond not as a team but as a FAMILY! No distractions, no cell phones, just a day of fellowship and growing together as a family and team! There are ideas out the wazoo that will not cost us an arm and leg, we could take them to the lake for a picnic; then follow up on our farm that night with a bonfire or whatever.. It breaks my heart to see these boys have so many negatives occur and I would love to see some positives happening for them. But we all know it starts when they UNITE! Let me know your thoughts, like I said I wont be upset at all, I would just love to see our boys shine TOGETHER!, and yes outing includes coaches, cheerleaders, and band members. They ALL make OUR TEAM:)
