This is my (Cindy Day) update on the past few weeks: I had my gallbladder out on Nov. 8th. The problem is there were 2 huge stones 1 1/2 inches in my common bile duct. He said hed never seen that size of one before and hes seen a lot of stones. The common bile duct is normally 6 mm wide but mine was 21 to accommodate the stones growth. The Dr. tried to get them, but couldnt and was afraid hes dislodged them which could have blocked off the liver and cause liver failure, so I stayed 3 days instead of day surgery in the hospital. Plus I developed an inflamed pancreas too. Next I was sent to OKC for a specialist to go down my throat with a tube and laser (ERCP) to blast them away. However they were so big and huge ( he also said hed never seen one that big before ) and hard that it couldnt be blasted away, only chipped a little at a time. He got only one chipped away because of the time. I went in for the same procedure the following week, but he couldnt get much of it this time and said I would have to have major surgery soon. with 4 to 8 weeks recovery. However, this WILL NOT affect the Festival of Lights starting December 12, 13 and 14th! We have plenty of help - including good cooks - and Farmer Frank will run the hayride from 6:15 til everyone gets a ride. My request to my family, friends and Happy Day Farms friends is to humbly ask for your prayers. I so believe in the power of prayer!!! This will make such a difference!
