This is my cultural artifact for English, a poem I wrote... Lets play a game. Who can guess what this poem is about?? First person to guess right will get a prize! ;) Caterpillars The eggs we are from are of forbidden lust Responsibility on their shoulders, but we instead are crushed We are from their flesh and bone But they seek to abandon and disown We the caterpillars, innocent and pure To them our destruction is their cure They need to know we have a right to life Even if they only look upon us as strife They make us suffer in the name of choice But we cannot oppose, we have no voice They hold the butterfly sacred, and that’s what we become Ignoring that fact, to them we are scum Those that profit from our death deceive Saying that we’re different, they want all to believe The purge has killed many, but some of us have survived We’ll be an example of those who could’ve kept their lives When will they open their eyes, when will they finally see? That we are just like them, or so we are meant to be
