This is my grandpa who was gassed in WWI. He died some years later, after long illness due to the mustard gas. He didnt live to see my father born, but Im pretty sure that when my dad goes into the light, the first person to greet him will be his dad. The unsung hero was my grandma, who was left pregnant (with my dad) and with 4 older children to raise and care for. She did an amazing job, all on her own, and Ive always admired her for that. Im glad for Veterans day to help us remember the sacrifices of our veterans AND their families.
