This is my gratitude post for today. Its another wonderful day in Chiang Mai. We already love our home, and our friends, and now were loving our village and its people too. When we decided to buy this home, all we had in mind was that it was suitable for us to live as a family. It had 4 rooms and it was close enough to the city so Beth could safely commute to work. We did not take anything else about the place into consideration. I was listening to my heart more than my head. Even the reminders that we will be moving to a foreign country, that we didnt know anyone, and we didnt speak the language, did not change my mind. Today, we have friends and their family who have become family to us. We have been made to feel at home here by everyone in the village. We have adjusted here as though this has always been home and weve only been away all this while. Not speaking the language has not been a problem. We still communicate somehow, and I appreciate the efforts of the locals to accommodate us. They treat us like one of their own. I am learning words and phrases so it is only a matter of time before I can communicate easily with them. Thank You God, for leading me back to where I feel I truly belong, and thank You for the signs that remind me that you will see me through the challenges to own our home and remain here. Thank You also for giving Hana her faith in me that I will make it happen for us. Thank You for raising my awareness to be at peace with the simple life you have led us to. I have been waiting a long time to return home and now, I feel I have. Thank You God, for my friend Edie, who has just found out that she does not have cancer. Continue to bless her with the life she deserves. Amen. Its a happy Friday everyone! Sending hugs and love to all!
