This is my take on the situation: lets approach this situation - TopicsExpress

This is my take on the situation: lets approach this situation with a litte more respect and not continue to post pictures of his dead body. Please and thank you..we as of people have become so desensitized in regards to hearing or experiencing someone losing their life that sometimes it takes a killing out of the norm ( us killing each other) to wake up..unfortunately it is a norm for black men dying and we all know its primarily from gun violence.. smh..we as a people are and will continue to be sensitive to the relationship that we have will the police and our judicial system due to seemingly never-ending violent and heinous acts that have been continously exhibited throughout time and the justice that never prevails. The most prominent cases would be the Rodney king beaten, trayvon martin case and now the mike brown situation. These are constant reminders, in my opinion, that continues to cause uproar and strain within our community, especially with these dealing with young men. Now i know there are more cases but from my experience these are the two that everyone are mostly familiarized with. Im from a city where unfortunately me being african american i know not to travel to certain municipalities because im going to be harassed by the police.. im from a city where the type of car I drive its going to dictate how many times I get pulled over.. Im also from a city where just about everybody I know has first hand experienced black on black crime.. im also from a city where just about everybody i know has experienced losing someone to gun violence, including myself. Do u truly understand how many people we are losing everyday. Wake up people.. none of this stuff is cool.. we gotta reevaluate ourselves as a people and strive for a better community from both sides, because a wrongful death should not be criticized from just one end of the spectrum. I would only wish that especially from this point on we will continue with the same energy and effort for justice when we lose another man..woman..or child to gun violence. .
