This is not a repost this actually happened to me again and once again there is a hero in this story I must thank for saving my life.I will start by saying that I will start eating like a good Diabetic and getting sleep, hydrating and do all the things I need to do to not let this happen to me again. I havent felt like eating the past few days and without Melina here to share our meals I just havent eaten much if anything. the same goes for drinking anything including water. My daughter Becca called to check on me and I told her my numbers were down 68 but not to worry about it and told her not to come over I was going to sleep...well she did worry and didnt like the way my voice sounded, she is without a car so it took her a little time to get here from where she was...I was very tired and couldnt keep awake.so I dozed off. Waking me on arrival she checked my blood... by this time it was 59...she gave me 4 glucose pills (the last I had)and rechecked after a few minutes. Now 57, she went right to work looking for anything in a diabetic household that contained sugar...or carbs..I felt sick and didnt want to eat but she would have none of that... she brought me a bowl of real ice cream from the bottom of the freezer..I forced that down just to watch my blood sugar drop to 54.Next she found a large chocolate chip cookie Melina keeps for just this thing and brought me some milk to help wash it down.52 and still falling...my vision was a whiteout and I could hardly see my finger tip or hold it still enough for the blood test. she asked me what was the lowest number I had ever been...I told her we were looking at it. I leaned close and kissed her on the cheek, she looked at me and I told her it was a good bye kiss just in case. she didnt think it was funny....daughters go figure.next check it was 50. she was going to call 911 when we remembered a Bottle of coke with her Boyfriends name on it she had bought the week before. She ran out to the kitchen counter grabbing the MattCoke ...I downed a few swallows then finished the rest over a glass of ice. Becca thought I should at least enjoy the first non diet pop Ive had in years. It jumped right back to 59 and after some graham crackers and a few more minutes 115 a very respectable number for a diabetic. I am quite sure if not for Becca insisting on coming over and force feeding me that I would have slipped off into a Diabetic coma and not have been discovered for 12 or more hours if even that soon. I would also like to thank our friend Lisa and Beccas friend Tom, who stayed on the phone giving advice on how to care for a diabetic. This one was way to close...She is out in the living room and wont be leaving until she is satisfied the old man is out of danger.Thank you baby girl, daddy owes you for this one big time! Oh I forgot to thank Matt for giving up the regular Coke that saved me, he can still have the empty...its worth a dime.
