His hands would be able to explore her. Jack longed to tangle his hands in her raven hair, drawing her head to his. She would moan softly, pressing herself against him. Her warmth would burn through their clothes as though their skin was pressed together. When they finally broke apart, there would be no trace of the anger and hurt that had been in her eyes earlier that evening. Somehow through his kiss, Jack would prove to her that he was with her because he wanted to be. Because the thought of being with any other girl was horrifying to him. Mia was insipid and none of the other girls held the seductive mystery that Rory did. Beyond her obvious beauty, Rory was bright and intelligent. She did not show off her body as though it was the only thing she had to offer boys. All at once, Jack understood how someone could be described as a diamond in the rough. Rory shone and sparkled, but she was far from perfect – and he loved her rough edges, even when they cut him deeply.
