This is not for everyone, but for those who are more theologically - TopicsExpress

This is not for everyone, but for those who are more theologically minded here is a thought about the genius of the Trinity from my journal: Islam and Judaism both accuse Christians of polytheism (belief in more than one god) but Christians contend that the complex unity of God is not only monotheistic but ingeniously superior to mans primitive notions (wouldn’t you expect the nature of God to be ingeniously superior to man’s wisdom?) One fundamental aspect of human nature is the need for fellowship. Take a man and put him in solitary confinement and he will be miserable, he may even loose his mind. Complete solitude is not good - it is torture. If the need for fellowship is a part of our nature and we are made in the image of God, it is quite reasonable to imagine that God also has the desire for fellowship. In fact, some argue that this is the reason He created man. But imagine a god who exists all alone. He has no one to fellowship with and no one to love (love must be expressed). Isnt this “god” inferior to the God of Christian theology, who, complex in His unity, has no need outside of Himself, but finds within His own being everything He desires: including fellowship and the exchange of love?
