This is one of the most mind-blowing documentaries Ive ever seen. On the one hand, it presents incredible stories of heroism and selflessness. On the other, its account of what really happened at Chernobyl makes it clear that we never really knew just how gigantic the disaster really was, how many lives it claimed, or just how close we ALL came to all becoming its victims. I especially urge Ukrainians to watch this. It adds one very important chapter to the story of the historical relationship between your country and Russia. I think that hearing about the unbelievable sacrifices which ordinary Russian people made to your country may even put a slightly different perspective on more recent events. Anyone born or living in Europe should watch too. Im not sure its widely appreciated that in the 1980s, your entire continent very nearly arrived at a point where everyone on it had to either be evacuated or die. Seems to me thats quite an important thing to know about your home. Btw, as you watch, bear in mind that in the present day, Armenias and Belgiums nuclear power plants are expected to suffer an accident at pretty much any moment - potentially a worse one than this. Which begs the question ... what, if anything, are Europeans prepared to do about that? Of course, Germany has already answered this question, and (yet again) congratulations to them for doing so. But what about the rest of you? youtube/watch?v=dS3WvKKSpKI
