This is one of the things that helped to make this country great. Sadly, its one of the things were losing at an astounding rate. At its height there were almost 8 million farms in this country in the 1930s. Currently its around 2 million. The population increase since 1930 is simply astonishing in comparison to the loss of sustainable agricultural land (farms). As much as 80% of the smaller family farms, which have been in those families for generations, live below the poverty level. Some of those who have it the worst are farmers. In terms of regulations, they are some of the worst over regulated in any country in the world. Dairy farmers for instance. Did you know that its illegal to sell natural milk? There is no such thing as All natural pure organic milk, because legally it must be pasteurized, a process that wasnt invented until the late 1700s and was not forced on the dairy farmers of this country until the 1920s. The FDA says that its because raw milk is unsafe which is kind of amusing since weve been consuming it since we DOMESTICATED COWS several thousands of years ago. I dont remember anything in the bible about pasteurized milk, or any ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphics about the dangers of drinking milk. In fact in most countries around the world you can buy raw milk right from the farmers. Thats how insane weve become as a nation. In fact, between 1998 and 2012 2 people in us died from raw milk. Thats less than a death every 5 years. That didnt stop the FDA from offering states that allow dairy farmers to sell raw milk in some way to the public financial incentives to reduce those sales. Does anyone know what a dairy farmer goes through? They dont just milk the cows, and then sell that milk. When youre on the back country road and you see a tanker truck driving off a dairy farm, thats just the start. The US Dairy Farmer must PAY to have the milk hauled off his farm, THEN he MUST PAY to have the milk processed, only then can he sell it. If at any point in that process something happens, its his loss. The car manufacturers do not PAY to have their cars shipped, and then Pay the rent for the dealership they sit on, and only get paid once the car is sold. Apple doesnt pay to have best buy sell their products. Dairy farmers make little as it is, without having to pay to have it hauled off their property, then pay to have it processed so some company can buy it, bottle it, and sell it, without have to refine it at all. Dole, Delmonte, Heintz, Green Giant, etc... they dont force the farmers that grow vegetable to pay to have them shipped, pay to have the vegetables cleaned and processed, so that they can buy them and just put em in cans. They do things the way everyone else does it. They buy the vegetables, they send their trucks to pick them up, or the farmer ships them to the plant, and it ends there. Farmers in this country get screwed, constantly by the government. They have to answer to the Department of Agriculture, the FDA AND the EPA. Thats at least three agencies which all have no problems making life as difficult as possible for people simply because they can. Dont believe that? Try building a pond on your property if the EPA finds out about it? Theres a horror story about a couple that did just that, only to have a heavily armed strike team assault their house as though they were terrorists, force them out of their home, and try to seize their property..... because they built a pond. Welcome to the USSA where its illegal to drink milk the way mankind has done so since the time of the great pyramids, actually since thousands, tens of thousands of years before the great pyramids where even thought of. https://youtube/watch?v=qknyR3y2nRY
