This is one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind. Those were the words that were heard on television and radio all over the world when, on July 20, 1969, astronaut Neil Armstrong (August 5, 1930 – August 25, 2012) became the first human being whose feet touched ground on the moon as one of the members of the first U.S. spaceflight, Apollo 11. And now this! What exciting news! Every small step towards the light of unity on this beleaguered planet is one giant leap for all humanity. How historic and fortuitous that President Barack Obama was born only two years after Castro came to power in Cuba. He must feel such a sense of accomplishment to have been part of this achievement during his lifetime!
