This is our second MACNA INFORMATION UPDATE. If you need to review the first one, check our MACNA FB page, or email me. Macnachair2013@hotmail, macnachair@macna2013 As we previously mentioned we want all attendees to know what to expect whether this is you first MACNA or your twenty fifth. Earlier we touched up on Travel info, and Registration. In this update we will discuss Raffle, Vendor/Exhibit, Kids Corner, and a few other items. Raffle Tickets: Many have been asking about raffle tickets. As with every MACNA the raffles are one of the biggest draws to the event. For $1 you can win items worth thousands. We will have an extraordinary number of items in the raffle. We have not been able to sell raffle tickets early as some MACNA’s have before, due to the merchant account company we chose. They do not allow “gambling”, LOL. However we will be offering raffle tickets from Pre Registration up until the doors open to the event in the Merchandising booth, a few feet away from registration. Once the exhibit hall opens, raffle tickets will be available at the Merchandising booth, AND at the raffle area. We thank Seachem for sponsoring our raffle area!! Look at the raffle section of our website, or on the FB page for items we have gathered so far. Many huge surprises will await you. Vendor/Exhibitor Hall: Vendors/Exhibitors will be in the same area as registration, 3rd Floor “Great Hall”. No one will be allowed into the vendor/exibit hall until Friday AM at the mentioned below times. Our vendors have asked for security, and we will be providing it!! MASNA will have their annual meeting in the Atlantic Ballroom on Friday at 8AM. Vendor Exhibit Hall will open to MASNA members at 9AM FRIDAY, and to regular attendees at 10AM FRIDAY. Saturday and Sunday vendor/exhibit hall will open at 9AM for all. If you want to go in early on Friday you can become a member of MASNA at masna.org, or at their booth in front of the entry doors that AM. Kids Corner: For those bringing young ones, you will not be disappointed. As far as we know, we are the first to do this at a MACNA. This will be on Friday and Saturday. We will have balloon artists, face painting, and a “touch tank”, including a number of marine animals the kids will actually be able to touch. We will have experts from the Miami Museum of Science at hand to educate the kids on the animals. On Saturday, same times, we will ALSO have an animal show. The Miami Museum of Science will bring in Reptiles, Hawks, Bald Eagle, and more……. Don’t miss out if you are bringing the young ones!!!!!! Other tid bits: Registration: Some have been receiving emails from registration about names for the badges, and wonder if this is legit, or spamming. If it is coming from registration@macna2013 it is legit. Early on our website did not allow those that bought more than one ticket to place the names of the others on the order. Although that has been resolved we still want to make sure registration goes smoothly, so our registration folks have been reaching out to make sure we have all the correct names so the badges will be ready when you arrive, and the process is smooth. We appreciate your help in this. Merchandising: We will have lots of memorabilia for you to take home, so make sure to include this in your budgets, J) Next info blast will touch up on Reception and Banquet!!!
