This is part of a completely fictional story Im writing. I would like to introduce one of the Main Characters. Please forgive my failure to indent, as this device seems to be incapable of such things. In his native language, OneWing is pronounced something like Ch-... Chen... Well, I dont have the rightly warped sort of tongue to pronounce it. Most People dont. Anyway, OneWing is my favorite guard cat. He is a beautiful creature; the most beautiful I have ever seen. A lot of people are frightened of him, because he can be a little violent. He is not a bad cat, however. He just gets a little angry because he lost one of his wings in the Great War, and now he cant fly anymore. As if it couldnt be worse, the spot where his wing used to be hurts him so badly all of the time you wouldnt believe it. Wouldnt you be angry too? Also, nobody respects him or even tries to understand *why* he is angry. He saved many of us from Death, yet nobody seems to notice or care. There are a lot of guard cats like that. When OneWings old wing spot hurts, I like to rub it for him. I always pray that one day his wing will grow back. My rubbing doesnt seem to do any good, most likely because I am very angry as well. I love when OneWing rubs his big scruffy face all over mine and I like to pull his tail too. He doesnt care. He thinks it feels good. Thats because his breed is a sort of big, black, rough sort which requires much stimulation and exercise. However: during such activities he must be creating something very fantastic, or he is Not Happy. If he realizes that he could be doing something else for the Betterment of Mankind that he would actually Enjoy More, it makes him Angry. You see, this is a Rare Breed which was Sent to Guard and Protect the Earth during the Great War. Many of these beasts survived the War and returned to Heaven, but others were wounded and stranded on Earth for Various Reasons. They are very lonely and sometimes scared, because Humans do not understand them and often hurt them on the soul level. These cats even hurt each other a lot of the time, because they were scarred by the Great War and now they cannot survive unless they are able to relive some of the pain that they experienced. Besides, it doesnt actually hurt them anymore - it simply stimulates their creativity. This breed is always on the go and absolutely loathes to be stuck in any one place for too long, unless they really want to be there for some reason or another (usually creating a masterpiece). OneWing is very capable if shape shifting, just like all the other members of his breed, but he is very careful about it. Some of the forms he takes are very terrifying. If he were to show humans these shapes, they would surely try to kill him (and unfortunately have to be killed or injured themselves). A lot of the time OneWing simply goes invisible when he wants to talk to me. He likes to talk through songs, pictures, movies, and sometimes simply by moving something nearby to get my attention. He knows that I know what his true form looks like, but he also respectfully acknowledges that I get scared of him sometimes. This is why he very kindly takes on the invisible form a lot of the time. Honestly, if he appeared in real life at this point, it is quite possible that I would die from shock. You see, he kept himself quite hidden from me for most of my life, because he knew my memory had gotten a little messed up during the Great War, and I didnt really See things the Right Way anymore. OneWing doesnt know if I will ever heal, just as I dont know if he ever will either, but we have promised to keep trying no matter what happens. This is only a very quick sketch. It would take centuries (at least) to reveal all of his complexities.
