This is pretty cool. Its a time-elapsed map showing you the most popular girs name in each state over 60 years, plus the overall most popular name in the country. As the years tick by, you see a name take over like some sort of Queen...or scroll down to look at each years map. First Mary is upended for nearly a decade of Lisa, followed by the long, long reign of Jennifer, who is eventually upended by Jessica, who is briefly overthrown by Ashley who seems to have sprung from Kentucky, Tennessee and West Virginia; but Jessica fights her way back to the thrown, finally giving way after just two years to a long, long reigh by Emily. Isabella and Emma followed her for a handful of years, and now Sophia sits astride the throne.
