This is pretty much my position. Also, I would add this - we have no national interest there - oil, other resources or diplomatic interest with the parties involved in their own civil war. We have no political allegiance to Assad nor the terrorist backed rebels. We should consider another approach - humanitarian help for the millions of refugees who have been forced into crossing the border into Lebanon and other countries.
