This is rather long but well worth the read. I see my comment this morning generated a lot of interest. That’s good because that was my purpose. But before we get into our lesson, I want to say I’m in no way upset at the person who called me out on this. Matter of fact, it’s quite the opposite. I’m thankful for people who care enough about me to bring things to my attention they may feel are inappropriate. But in this case, I didn’t feel the same way so that’s why I didn’t delete the comment in question. My comment this morning was worded a certain way to bring attention to a couple of things. 1) No matter what you post, someone is always going to read and comprehend it differently than others and some will get offended or think it’s inappropriate. If you notice, I never said anything about being mad at this person but many comprehended it that way as you can see in their comments. Then some of you read it as an April Fool’s joke (well half of it was…the part about me deleting my Facebook page is a joke) but not the rest of it. I did that to show how people see and read things differently. 2) We get offended about all kinds of things. I could post Roll Tide and someone would be offended. I could say I like brunettes better than redheads, (which is not true by the way) and someone would be offended. I for one don’t like cussing on Facebook especially when it’s hidden in an acronym (LMAO). Doesn’t that mean Laughing My A** Off? Is that considered inappropriate or unchristian like? Wouldn’t LMBO get the same point across? What about all these no makeup selfies to bring awareness to breast cancer. Have you ever thought this might be offensive to someone who has cancer and is going through treatments and are trying to come to terms with having no hair or with the way their skin looks due to the poison that’s being put into their body to kill the cancer? And please explain to me how not wearing makeup brings awareness to breast cancer. If you want some breast cancer awareness, go to this lady’s page (Melodye Hadder) and look at her profile pic. Now that’s awareness!!! Then go donate some money to a breast cancer organization to bring more awareness. I could go on and on, but I think ya’ll get my point. We all post things that offend people. Finally, if I post something that you think is inappropriate or offends you, please send me a message and explain why you feel that way. I’ll take it into consideration and if I feel you have merit, then I’ll certainly consider deleting it. But don’t go to someone else and talk behind my back and then have them send me a message saying ya’ll don’t like my comment…explain why you don’t!!! I can promise you there’s no other person on Facebook who puts more thought into their comments than me. I scrutinize every comment over and over several times before I post it to make sure it’s appropriate. I do that because I know I have some people out there who would love to see me fall. Well my friends, that’s Randy’s words of wisdom for April Fool’s Day!!! Have a GREAT night everyone!!!
