This is really interesting and useful information. We recently got a little device (its about the size of a postage stamp), that we can plug into our notepads or laptops, and it allows us to take credit card information for the sale of products and complete sales rapidly. The ease of use is . . .mindblowing. One thing I immediately thought of was all those streetfairs and craftfairs . . .thousands and thousands of people selling merchandise directly to customers and instantly making a financial transaction. An unimaginable boost to small businesses. Last year, when I was at the big bead convention in Tacoma, I saw all the vendors doing this instead of requiring cash and/or swiping cards. Or . . .sitting right here in my studio, I can directly take credit card payments for either digital or physical products. Thats just one sector where cloud-based communication services can directly stimulate business transactions. Just direct financial exchanges without cash, in seconds.
