This is really sad. There is no excuse for things like this. And its worse than that because another portion of the book was plagiarized from articles written by my cousin Wyatt Emmerich. Wyatt writes- I am Wyatt Emmerich, publisher of The Northside(Jackson, Miss.) Sun. I did a series of stories on a father and daughter in Mississippi that went to jail over wetlands violations. My articles were the basis of one of the chapters in Rands book. I was a surprised he gave my original research no credit, despite using many of my paragraphs verbatim.
