This is something I have to share: this article is truly inspirational. Last year, this special momma took her heavy heart to the road, and ran a full marathon for charity. This was done in the name of her beautiful daughter, who was born with Down Syndrome. When I was pregnant, we were told to prepare because my son had 3 soft markers for Downs. The doctors were hesitant to tell us. They thought it would change our perspective on parenthood and our love for our son. Abel was born with some abnormalities; extra fluid in his liver, a 2 artery umbilical cord, etc, but overall a healthy baby boy. We never doubted our love for our son, but we knew the reality of parenthood would be different if he was affected. I didnt end up having that experience, but this momma did. How strong she must be to runs full marathon, and do it for charity! Amazing. I admire your commitment Layda! Thank you for sharing.
