This is something i am looking into providing in the studio in the future and I would appreciate any advice from any of you who think it would/ wouldnt be a good idea... Or to my industry friends who are already providing a service to pierce childrens ears, anything i should consider. At the moment this is only an idea as i only provide piercing for 16+years... Ethically I believe a child needs to be able to voice their own desire for an ear piercing and would not consider any parents with pushchairs with a child who isnt even aware that they have ears. MAKING A STATEMENT AGAINST THE USE OF PIERCING GUNS! I really feel so strongly about parents needing to be more educated about the risks of guns, why they should avoid places using piercing guns and to be aware that those who do use them mostly do not have adequate training or information about the body, tissue formation and healing process. Nor do they usually have training in cross contamination, sterilisation processes or knowledge simply of what quality jewellery for human implantation actually is. One of the main aims for me, is not only to provide a professional piercing service, but to show parents that trusting a professional body piercer, like myself, with the knowledge and experience in all the right areas would be a better choice, a safer choice for their child. Body piercing is my career and not simply a Saturday job where i get to shoot blunt ended, pitted pins into your kids lobes that will punch through their delicate little ears, inevitably harbouring bacteria and rust away over time. No thanks to that.. Anyway this wee article had come to my attention and got me thinking...
