This is something the charter school world taught me... When someone goes into an interview for a position, ANY position, from administration all the way to support staff, you give that person an opportunity to reflect, and then you give them an opportunity to receive feedback, and respond. Its a trap, I must admit. But, this process allows for hiring managers to determine the level of pride a person has, thus whether or not they will be a good fit for the organization. If a person cannot self-identify errors or give or receive critical feedback positively, that is a red flag. However, if at any point in this process the person decides to blame someone or something else for their error without any admission of their contribution, they are automatically NOT HIRED. I received a promotion to Interim Principal yesterday. As my sister, Ronysha Fletcher, told me so eloquently...too often we tolerate things that we should not because we want to hold on to a situation... Im a BEAST professionally, but personally, I need to fix and adjust myself. Sometimes you keep business and personal matters separate. And other times, you transfer those lessons from one to the other... You cant be close to me, if you cant see your own errors... Proverbs 16:5 Everyone who is arrogant in heart is an abomination to the Lord; be assured, he will not go unpunished. #SELAH #MIRRORS
