This is such a valuable message. Girls should be proud TO BE girls. But so often, society gives the perception that girls who are look and act like tomboys are way more capable and to be admired than girls who look an act like the girls they are (case in point Disneys Brave). But do people not realise that in the very process of this differentiation, we are giving in to patriarchy? Girls are girls for a reason so proudly wear pink if you like it, wear cutesy things in your hair if you like it, speak in a high pitched voice if you like it and NEVER feel inferior to girls who have more boyish attribues because at the end of the day we ARE all GIRLS and we can all run, throw or punch, even while wearing pink eye shadow and glitter nail polish.
