This is the day the Lord hath made. A brand new day. Have you ever noticed how the sun seeks out the darkness, pushing it back to reveal the truth. Even this morning it was peeking around and through the blinds at my window.The uninvited guest that startled you last night turned out to be nothing more than your jacket tossed across the back of a chair. There is something else thats new everyday too. A verse over in Lamentations 3:22-24 tells me that the Lords mercies are new every morning. I thought a clean slate, brand new day. Blackboard came to my mind. I remember years ago my two cousin (Patsy&Diane) and I use to stay after school waiting to ride home with Aunt Linda who was also a teacher. Our jobs, among other thing in her room, was to clean the blackboard and beat out the chalk dust from the erasers. This way her board was ready for a brand new day. This got me to thinking how our lives are a lot like this. We write on our Blackboard each day with our deeds and actions. Some times we are led by the Spirit, then again there are moments when the old flesh takes over. At times such as this, we go to the Lord in prayer seeking His mercy and forgiveness. At the end of the day I believe that our Heavenly Father takes His own eraser of love, mercy and grace and wipes away those things that are displeasing to Him in our lives through forgiveness. His Word tells me that not only does He forgive, but He forgets too! As far as the east is from the west. This reminds me of the times we cleaned and dusted the erasers outside. All that powder represented what our Aunt wrote that day, and was carried off by the wind like the east and west. I thank the Lord for this a new day and also for clean Blackboard to write on. May what I do and say be for His glory as what I write here in some way help someone else have a better day. Love and prayers to each one of you today.
