This is the eulogy which was read on the floor of the Lodge at the last meeting of the Qualicum Parksville Elks #589. Brother Svend Pedersen was born in Denmark on August 25th, 1921, and passed away at his home in Lantzville, BC on August 2nd, 2014, just 23 days short of his 93rd Birthday. Svend emigrated to Canada in 1951 and worked as a carpenter. He was employed by Canadian Bechtel and advanced to the position of General Manager prior to his retirement. Brother Pedersen joined the Parksville Qualicum Elks on June 24th, 2009. He attended meeting on a regular basis, very much enjoying the Members comradeship, and the meals prepared and served by the caterers and the Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Svend is survived by these children: Doris, John, Loureen, and Shawn, as well as 15 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. REST IN PEACE, MY BROTHER
