This is the exact same problem Im currently having with my R1. The internet and forums are littered with BigBang R1s with the exact same problem, however no diagnosis to date!! :( Some guys say its the battery, some say ECU Flash and Tune is in order, some say the starter... My battery test came up good (Voltage & CCA), Ill trickle charge overnight, test battery in the morning sitting at a very healthy 13.85V, try to start the bike and this is exactly what happens. If the bike is warm the engine will turn over first time every time (so its not the starter), its only after the engine has cooled (off for 3hrs or more) that this problem strikes. If anyone has some constructive solutions to this Id love to know?
