This is the interview I did before the election for the race I ran for a City Council seat in 2002. The date is October 8, 2002 (when it was aired but I believe the interview was done on October 7, 2002). I was asked for 3 of my top issues and then after that I was asked to say something about myself. Unfortunately, a salient position of mine was excised while they inserted the thing about improving veterans services based upon the separate answer I gave for saying something about me, at which time I said that I am very involved in veterans advocacy work with my work on veterans healthcare (i.e. the anthrax vaccine issue, etc) . Never once did I say anything that would have implied I believed the city government had anything to do with veterans services. Notice theres no video footage of me saying such a thing. Now one of my issues was concealed carry (although you can use the term conceal and carry I always used concealed carry) because at that time (i.e. 2002) in Minnesota, it wasnt a shall issue state. Instead, concealed carry permits were issued at the arbitrary discretion of local police chiefs and most did not issue concealed carry permits.
