This is the kind of video that should make us protest. The officer says, Hand me your license, please, and when the driver leans back into his car, doing exactly what hes been instructed to do, the officer starts firing. No joke. In the Ferguson affair, I tend to support the officer, the evidence that I have seen represents a small cop who was attacked by a big thief, but I understand the overall outrage because of footage like this. I do not think the hands up dont shoot meme came from nowhere. I think the spark on this particular debate has come from a really flawed case, but the fuse was lit long before. I do not judge the public reaction on just this case, in fact, I think this case is a terrible case to hang your hat on. But it takes a million straws before you finally get the one that breaks the camels back. And this video, I think, is the kind of thing that we should really be paying attention to.
