This is the local stage set-up for the town of Pahrump, Nevada, there is nothing anchoring the genie lifts to the ground, no lines tying the truss down, and it is storming pretty bad an hour away in Las Vegas, I tried to warn the police about the safety of this and they shrugged their shoulders and said I needed to talk to the event organizer, I spoke to them about the failure at safety and they looked at me like a deer in headlights, I asked them have you ever heard of Sugarland? More blank faces, it started to rain hard and I advised them to get everyone off that stage, they ignored my advise, I spoke to the fire marshall, she again said I needed to talk to the organizers, she did know about the Sugarland accident, but acted like her hands were tied. I called OSHA and left a message. Is their any other agency I should of informed? I have a very bad feeling about this, I dont want to be the guy that predicted a tragic avoidable accident, Im also aware I have PTSD from an accident, so I may be overreacting, but I wouldnt let anyone I care for near that death trap. The fair started today and lasts through Sunday, thankfully the storm is mostly east of Pahrump, had it hit us instead of Las Vegas, I doubt this setup would still be standing.
