This is the meeting in which the Board of Education discussed their goals. I must say that watching this reminds me why I always believed that Sharon Stuart just GETS IT on most of the topics that would come before the Board!!! Some really great discussions on some really great topics! Few things I noticed though: Some trustees need to be a little more participatory and some perhaps should sit back and listen a little more. One in particular was very, hmmm-how should I say this-Rude? Talking over people is not productive and is annoying to the listener. And Sharon, I agree, community bullying prevention is a great idea (and I know you were not talking about one person, as this issue runs rampant here). But you and your fellow elected officials will never escape public scrutiny. It is the nature of the beast and those who think using their position of power to retaliate on those who speak out against them, should seriously reconsider their position. Especially a school board member. Bullying is defined by one major thing- to use superior strength or influence to intimidate (someone), typically to force him or her to do what one wants.. If you have power (superior influence) and use it against those who speak out against your practices, then you have shown the perfect example of bullying. Think about that one!! Overall,, glad I watched this, as annoyed as some parts made me, I also regained my interest in all of the things that made me pay attention to begin with. And seriously, if you would like more people involved in their childs education and what is going on. Bring back the videos of your meetings and discussion being had. As much as some decisions really annoy me and some decisions are based on personal and not business, I still think that Sharon Stuart really adds the bring back to reality factor to this Board!!! Kudos Stuart!! Without watching this, I was losing faith in what was to come...I know have regained some of that hope to keep moving forward down a very positive road. A little more order is all I could suggest. And always check your facts!! Lastly, if you have not gathered this yet...I do not care who you are, if I think you are doing something you should not be doing, I will let you know. I also will let you know when I think you are doing a great job!! :)
