This is the moment to be sincere to ourselves. Please consider this: 1) Sometime ago, armed robbers made life very unbearable in South-East. The people of South-East gathered themselves (traders, drivers, motorcyclists, workers), all gathered together, some formed Bakasi Boys, etc, and they went around towns and cities, arrested and killed known robbery kingpins and their members. Some sort of peace returned in South-East. 2) Also, in South-East, to tackle kidnapping. the APGA govt under Obi and now Obiano initiated a policy that if anyone is caught as kidnapper, his/her houses must be demolished, and govt will take ownership of all his/her properties. Many kidnappers have been flushed out and their houses destroyed. 3) Still in South-East, when kidnapping was daily occurrence in Abia State, Fed Govt sent army to flush out kidnappers. The Abia people gave all necessary support and info to the army. They succeeded, and Abia-State is now better. 4) Under OBJ govt, some policemen was kidnapped and some died under the agitation of MEND. OBJ sent soldiers to Odi. The soldiers bombed both from ground and from air, and destroyed everything on sight. The villagers have to run to nearby villages to avoid the wrath of the army. Those soldiers came from different ethnic groups. They come from different religions. but they worked together, fought with one mind and destroyed Odi. 5) During YarAduas govt, there were attacks by MEND, destroying our oil pipes. The Governors of South-South, including GEJ (Then Gov of Bayelsa-State), went around the creeks, discussed with MEND, and arrange them to meet Yar-Adua and talk peace. YarAdua didnt go to creeks of South-South to give amnesty and stop the bombings.. 6) In South-West, when some of their States were totally taken over by armed robbers, OPC took over and acted decisively. Most of the robbers were chased out or killed. Now, coming to current insecurity in the North, Boko Haram was started by a former governor. He used them as political tugs, to rig elections and intimidate his opponents. Later on, he used same group to propagate his ideas of Sharia Law in the North. When GEJ became president, the Hausa/Fulani oligarch looked for something they can use to destabilize GEJs govt. They found ready hands in Boko Haram. From a rag-tagged hungry political tugs and religious bigots, Boko Haram turned into a well funded and well trained insurgents, ready to face our army, and kill thousands of innocent Nigerians, no matter their tribe or religion. All these while, instead of Musilm political and religious leaders to do what APGA and Igbo people did in South-East, or what OPC did in South-West, they turn themselves to object of ridicule by sitting at their respective comfortable houses, and blaming Fed Govt. Some of them shamelessly flew to USA to accuse GEJ of sponsoring Boko Haram. APGA govt in Anambra State didnt wait Fed Govt before they start destroying kidnappers house. South-South Governors didnt wait for YarAdua before they acted. OPC didnt wait Fed govt before they act. When OBJ sent army to Odi in South-South, our soldiers worked together without sabotaging their fellow soldiers. Though not right, but they bombed Odi to Armageddon. But on Boko Haram, it is no more secret that some Muslim members of the army are protecting Boko Haram. They are moles in the army. They give info to Boko Haram, enabling Boko Haram to evade army attacks. The info these moles passed to Boko Hram enable Boko Haram to ambush and kill our gallant soldiers. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!! GEJ cannot carry gun, enter bush and fight Boko Haram. Moreover, this war is not all about brutal force, but ideological warfare. Only Muslim political and religious leaders can provide the ideology to change the minds of Boko Haram. I hereby call on Sultan of Sokoto together with all Northern Emirs to immediately congregate themselves together with IBB, Buhari, Junaid, Sanusi, El-Rufai, etc, and head to Siambasa forest, and stop Boko Haram. This is what the political and religious leaders did in South-East, South-West, etc. Enough of these blame games!!! We need peace in this country, not blame games!!!! If tomorrow, some kind of Christian fundamentalists form a terrorist group (God forbid), and start bombing, killing, maiming innocent people and destroying the country, the 1st line of intervention will be CAN, traditional rulers in the affected areas, the Governors in the areas, and respectable Christian elders in the areas. So, why is everybody waiting for Jonathan to fight Boko Haram alone? Yesterday, the army chief told us that they have located the abducted (or officially handed over) girls, but are restrained to act, because they dont want to endanger the lives of the girls. What does this tell us? It tells us that this war is not all about using brutal force. It is also about reorientation using better ideology. Followers of Boko Haram were brainwashed. So, it needs someone or some people that have common religion with Boko Haram, to debrief, re-orientate, and reset their brains. It cant be done with guns. It can only be achieved by logic, by ideology, and by conversation. So, I hereby call on Sultan of Sokoto, Emir of Kano, all Northern Emirs and kings, Governors of core-Northern States (except Middle-belt), IBB, Buhari,El Rufai, Junaid, etc, etc, to enter Siambasa forest, negotiate with Shekau, and bring back our girls. They dont need guns nor soldiers to accompany them. They just need copies of Qoran. After the girls are released, they should invite all members of Boko Haram to IBBs Hiltop Mansion in Mina, for 10 years debriefing and reorientation, before they are released to cohabit with normal human beings. This is a soft-landing arrangement for Boko Haram. We need peace in this country!!!!!!
