This is the process: 1) I have a slight sense of discontent. This is a gift, this sense. It tells me something is here that needs attention. Change is coming. 2) this discontentment builds. It insists I look at something. That something is an idea, thought or behavior that no longer works. I was not wrong, It simply has stopped working. 3) now is the time for introspection. What is it I have to let go of? 4) I know now what the problem is, now I need the how? How do I let it go? What do I replace it with? The answer might not be readily available. I dont know is ok. I want the answer here and now. The answer might not be in this time. But the time is coming. Another lesson in patience. 5). With the help of HP I let it go. Problem- solution- action. If I short circuit, I suffer. If I delay, I suffer If I deny, I suffer. A dog has an old bone, his master sees that it will harm him if he chews on it more. What was a fresh, meaty bone is now rotting, broken with sharp end. Does the dog know this? Of course, it stinks, it tastes bad, it cuts his mouth. But they have become so attached, he cant just let it go. His master decides to help.. He tries to take it away. The dog turns his head and tries to hide it. He looks at his master and wags his tail. He thinks maybe we are playing a game. It soon becomes apparent that this is no game. But... If he only his master knew how much he loves this bone, he would let him keep it. The master is having none of it, he loves his dog, he is responsible. Drop it he yells! Drop it. The dog now sees he is quite serious. Fear grips him as he wonders how he can get his way. He growls at the person who has loved him since he left his mother. Cared for him, played with him, walked him and snuggled with him. The response is quick, a sharp pull on his collar, and a hand on the bone. A tug of war ensues. The dog suffers pain from his choke collar and is losing his battle for the bone. One sharp pull and it departs his mouth with a tear around his teeth. He tastes his own blood. He watches dejected as his master leaves him with sharp words and his beloved bone. Bad dog! Bad. The result was inevitable. But we resist. Its the root of all suffering, resistance. Resistance is futile. God always gets the bone.
