This is the real problem. It isnt the police. It is our justice system. Four years for repeatedly raping a four year old girl? A four year old girl! Let that sink in for a moment. Oh, and he does pay the family a grand total of $5,000 in restitution. And this was considered a HARSH sentence for a former police officer. They tried to get him off with nothing more than a few months in county jail. And the reason for the light sentence? You guessed it. Because he wore a uniform. Im sure that will be a comfort to this little girl in therapy. It is okay you were raped because he was a good man. He was a cop. Until our system begins holding criminals in uniform to the same standard as other criminals who commit the exact same crimes, there can be no trust in law enforcement. Good cops will always be good. But the bad ones will just get worse and worse until there is true accountability for their actions. I applaud the good cops out there. But more and more evidence shows they are a dying breed and the system is to blame.
