This is the real value of meditation, in my personal experience, - TopicsExpress

This is the real value of meditation, in my personal experience, because I have found it to be nothing more than training, on going practice at maitaining ones ability to remain in bare attention, a state in which one is in much higher and uncritical awareness. In that state, we are less making the brain to work for us, than ALLOWING it to work naturally for us. From a learning point of view, however I believe it to be useless unless it is accompanied by study, contemplation, cross-correlation between seemingly unconnected subjects, critical thinking (questioning ones own beliefs and ideas) and finding the connections. Failing which meditation merely has peace of mind benefits, but with the risk of becoming too detached from reality and unproductive.
