This is the reason why Israels actions besides being unjust and cruel are plain stupid. Rather than weakening Hamas they make it stronger by removing all middle ground and make Palestinians rally around Hamas. The logic that you can get peace from the barrel of a gun simply does not and cannot work. I dont think any rational neutral observer can be sympathetic to the actions of Hamas but no right thinking person can justify Israels reaction to their actions either. These actions will create a cancer which will eat the core of the Israeli state because they are totally counter to its founding principles. I do hope my Israeli friends realise this.
