This is the second year clubs across Zone 34 have been recognized for the work they are doing in creating a positive public image in their respective communities. It is evident Rotary clubs are embracing public relations to enhance public image. This is demonstrated by the 70% increase in recognitions this year (56 in 2012-13 and 95 this Rotary year). Which clubs earned a Public Image Citation for 2013-14? Here are the stats: 12% of the clubs in our zone were recognized from districts 6910, 6920, 6930, 6940, 6950, 6960, 6970, 6980, 6990, 7020 & 7030 District 7020 had 43 clubs recognized! 2 e-clubs were recognized 9 Rotaract clubs were recognized 25% of clubs recognized this year received the citation last year as well District 6930 had 10 clubs recognized: Boca Raton, Boca Raton Sunset, Boca Raton West, Boynton Beach-Lantana, Cocoa, Royal Palm Beach, Vero Beach, Vero Beach Sunrise, Wellington, and West Palm Beach. Upon close examination of the submissions, a common thread among the clubs is that they were able to secure media coverage for a club activity, have a club website, have a social media presence and organized a networking event open to the public. Trending but not as common is the use of an electronic newsletter and an emphasis on vocational service to give club exposure. Our organizations culture had always been to do good in the world - quietly. Unfortunately, we have a lot more competition for business and community leaders time, talent and treasure and we need to tell our story.
