This is the story of Sluggo. Twenty plus years ago I had a Banana Slug on a regular feeding schedule. He/she (theyre hermaphroditic) would show up promptly at 7am and 5pm to eat leftover cat chow I put out for some feral cats.. Sluggo was so determined that he found his way through a crack in the sub floor of a section of the house I was remodeling to find me when I was late. When hot weather arrived I put out a little water for him in the cat dish. I came home from work to find Sluggo dissolved in the dish. I had used my orange juice glass, and even though I had rinsed it, the remaining acidity was too much for him. Theyre incredible creatures. Sluggos offspring will b just fine. Theyve been here since the Cambrian Era.
