This is the truest thing I have ever read. I had to let go of fear and false obligation to reclaim my authenticity. As my brother is fond of saying, this aint no dress rehearsal. The Greek aphorism, Gnothi seauton (or know thyself) is the greatest achievement of the human spirit. I grew tired of seeing my authentic self plucked from me like feathers, each feather separating me from my ability to fly, by a monster I created in my own head. Must overcame should. They can call me a quitter. They can laugh or call me a flake all they want. Must is the moment when you know the people you love are more valuable than rote tasks that separate you from them. I have faced my fear. It has passed over and through me, it has gone past and I have turned the inner eye to see its path. Read this essay.
