This is tricky business to articulate but here goes. In the wake of the horrifying non-indictment of Wilson, I am seeing a huge number of friends unfriending folks for racist comments on their page. Fair enough. That is your prerogative and it is not ever your responsibility to educate anyone about their problematic beliefs. But, if *no one* they love and respect ever takes the time to break things down for them, the chances of them coming around are even more slim. So, Im not saying you have to put up with hate on your page, but if you have a moment and some patience, and you think you might be able to make an impact, please consider engaging in a calm, loving way. Or better yet, reach out to them in a forum that is less hostile and defensive than FB. The more we just cut people out of our lives the more and more isolated they become, and certain of their viewpoint, no matter how troubling it might be.
