This is what I found = > please read it....and ignore spelling mistakes.. Shri Krishna is being reverently worshiped in the rest of the World as He is in India. In pre-Christian time the temples of Vedic Deities (Vishnu, Shiva, Mother Goddess, etc) used to abound in all regions of the world. Evidence of this is found in the works of the ancient authors such as Megasthenes, Strabo and Herodotus. Herodotus recorded (Page-136, Vol-I, Herodotus): I made a voyage to Tyra in Phoenicia hearing there was a Temple of Hercules at that place, very highly venerated. I visited the Temple and found it. Herodotus himself was a devout Hindu alias Vedist. There is nothing surprising about this because in his time (~500BC) people were generally very devout and there was nothing except Vedic culture throughout the world. The temple of Hercules he visited was obviously that of Krishna alias Chrisn because Hari-Cul-Eesh (हरी-कूल-ईश) is a Sanskrit term signifying an incarnation of the line of Hari i.e. Vishnu. And Krsihna is indeed regarded as 8th incarnation. Krishna in Holland: ------------------------ In Amsterdam, the biggest hotel is named after Lord Krishna, as Krishnapolsky. Krishna in Spain: ------------------------ In Spain the promontary near Cadiz has been known since ancient times as sacred land because according to Strabo (Page-263, Vol-I, Strabos Geography) it had many temples of Radhamanthus, term with Sanskrit compound राधा-मनस्थ-ईश, meaning the God residing in the heart of Radha. Albert J. Edmund observes, Strabo considered all Asia as far as India to be consecrated to Bachbus where Hercules (Lord Krishna) and Bacchus (Trymbakesh i.e. Lord Shiva) are called Kings of the East. The last religions of Babylon and Egypt were born there. Even the Greeks and the Romans were debtors thereto for the cult of Bacchus and Mithras (the Sun). (Page-44, Buddisht and Christian Gospels, by Albert J. Edmund, the Yukwan Publishing House, Tokyo 1905 AD). Since Hari alias Lord Krishna was the guardian deity of the Greeks they greet one another with the words Hari Tu Tay i.e. May Hari look after you or bless you. Krishna in Egypt: ------------------------ The Egyptian Krishtos (alias Krishna or Chrisn) was the same as Indian Krishna is apparent from the footnote on page-90 of the book titled, The Celtic Druids by Gofrey Higgins saying, In the French war, the British sepoys on their arrival from India at ancient Thebes in Egypt, found their God Krishna, and instantly fell to worshipping.... Krishna in Iraq: ------------------------ Krishna playing flute appears on postal stamp of Iraq, commemorating the 1979 Mosul spring festival. Similar huge portraits of Lord Krishna also appear on rear windows of some public buses in Baghdad. Baghdad itself is named after Bhagwan (Krishna) as Bhagwad (Nagar), i.e. Krishna city. Krishna in Mecca: ------------------------ The precincts of the Kaba in Mecca are known as Haram because prior to being captured in the name of Islam the Kaba was Hariyam i.e. a temple of Hari alias Krishna. Krishna in Jerusalem: ------------------------ The term Jerusalem itself spelled earlier as Yerushaleim alias Yedu-ishalayam signifies a township of Lord Krishna. Likewise the term Israel is Iswaralays i.e. the abode of God (Krishna). Krishna tradition of Syria: ------------------------ The term Syria is a Sanskrit word Suriya i.e. a region of Sura (Sura is referred as God in Vedic tradition). Krishnas clan, the Yadavas (i.e. Judaists) when forced to leave their disturbed Dwarka after the Mahabharat war migrated to Syria. Krishna in Russia: ------------------------ The Russian Siberia has a city name Krsnoyarak which still commemorates Lord Krishna. Krishna in Japan: ------------------------ Japans postal department has also issues a stamp depicting Lord Krishna playing the flute as Krishna used to be worshiped in ancient Hindu Japan too. He is referred to as Naraen-ten (Narayana), Kengo-rikishi or Kongo-rikishi or Nio hav
