This is what I think. People who think they have the right to tell other people how and what they should think/feel about any subject are exactly what the problem is today. If everyone would just stay out of everyone elses business the world would be a better place for all of us. Side stepping the horse slaughter issue for a moment but the logic here still applies. Some people love cats. They really, really, really, love cats. Like a member of their family they say. They would never not take that cat to the vet, or even think of buying him inexpensive food. Kitty gets the best of everything always. Then there are the people ( like me) that really dont adore cats at all. For one I am highly allergic and cant pet them so its hard for me to form attachments to cats. So..for me a Tom Cat is merely a ball bearing mouse trap. Mine are barn cats, they live outside, they have free choice food and access to water. No vets, no frills, just serve a purpose. They arent abused or neglected but they arent pampered either. Hard line cat lovers would cry foul, but...is it really? I say we just have a difference of opinion. It neither makes them right nor me wrong we are just very different in our views of cats and their importance in the grand scheme of things. Where things go wrong is when cat lover tries to shame me because I dont see things their way, or me to shame them for the unnatural way their cat has to live. This NAZI like my way or the highway mentality when it comes to animals is just WRONG and needs to stop. Live and let live. Thats what a free country is supposed to be founded on.
