This is what islam did to this city. The city was destroyed before islam came to Persia but the islamic clerics hate this ancient city. Islam is jealous of the achievements of all cultures. This city is being destroyed under the clerics rule of Iran. Islam has done the same wherever it has gone. In Egypt they destroyed the Sphinx about 100 years ago. Sphinx stood there untouched for more than 6000 years until islamic clerics ordered it`s destruction. Last year the clerics of Salafi sect (something like Wahhabism) in Egypt ordered to destroy all the Pyramids and mummies. If they had done that , they would have starved to death. Egypt lives on tourism.
